Muthaiga is one of Nairobi’s most sought-after neighbourhoods, and Begonia House captures everything that makes this area of the city such a lovely place to live. This home is perfectly situated for both your work commute and for evening and weekend activities to take advantage of all that Nairobi has to offer. Begonia House’s design and layout make it a beautiful, peaceful retreat that lets you enjoy the city’s sunny weather with indoor-outdoor living and stunning views.
Part of our Muthaiga Meadows collection, Begonia House boasts a beautifully manicured private garden as well as access to expansive shared gardens with large, mature trees that attract plenty of birds and an occasional troop of monkeys.
One wall of the home’s dining room is a collapsible accordion door – with an expandable grill for security – allowing you to completely open the space to the large patio, which features a second dining set for al fresco meals. The dining room opens into the living room, which also features a door to the patio as well as a functional fireplace perfect for cosy evenings in the rainy season. The living room’s large window overlooks the private garden and, beyond that, offers an uninterrupted view of the large shared gardens.
Upstairs, all three of Begonia House’s bedrooms offer green views of the garden, while the master bedroom’s adjoining dressing room overlooks the front of the home. Each room boasts a spacious layout and tasteful, comfortable furnishings. The home has two full bathrooms upstairs, as well as a toilet with an ample storage cupboard downstairs.
The kitchen is equipped with modern appliances, including a refrigerator, cooker, food processor and microwave. We have provided a washing machine for your convenience. Your rental of the cottage includes internet, DSTV, water, an invertor system for power outages and security and grounds maintenance.
Muthaiga is a very secure neighbourhood, being located close the UN and home to prominent diplomatic residences. Begonia House provides an easy commute to the UN, Westlands and the CBD. It is also well-situated for a quintessential Nairobi lifestyle. There is a small shopping centre within walking distance that is perfect for grocery shopping – including a delicious French bakery. The house is just down the road from Karura Forest and several of the city’s most famous golf and country clubs.
