There are three shopping centres in the area: Westgate Mall, Diamond Plaza and Sarit Centre. Visit Westgate and Sarit Centre for your grocery needs, at Shoprite and Carrefour, respectively, and head to The Corner Shop at Diamond Plaza for fresh produce.

There are plenty of activities in the area, including a cinema at Westgate, and the Africa Yoga Project and a climbing wall at Diamond Plaza. For fitness lovers, there are several nearby gyms, including the gym at Sankara Hotel and Arena Fitness Centre at Sarit Centre. Karura Cottage is just down the road from the Thigiri Lane gate of Karura Forest and a short drive from the forest’s main gate.
